I begin with putting together colour pallets that I feel would work well within the show. The example bellow was from a production of Caryl Churchill's 'Heart's Desire. This show had a strong set theme of blue and yellow, so I needed to find colours that would work well within that pallet.

After I have a broad idea of how I would like the production to look, I begin to think about the technical elements. I come up with an initial draft of a plot, and like to draw a basic layout of how i would like the beams to be focused. When designing I like to think about the how the...

The last step of my design process is to draw up a final plot for the production.
I personally use Vectorworks to create the finished plot.
